How to Maintain your Mental Health

How to Maintain your Mental Health. In recent years, people have realized the importance of a good diet and exercise, and recent surveys show that over the past 20 years, people eat better and exercise.

More often, this helps people live longer, but people still don’t understand that their mental health is just as important as their physical health.

Most people these days exercise on average-6 hours a day and make sure that whatever they put in their mouth contains no sugar or preservatives, but they don’t mind their sanity, no days off, not even the occasional long weekend, 60 hours per week, working from home with them and even working on weekends. All in the hope of one day getting that big promotion. What good does it do you when your brain is overloaded and you have a breakdown at the office.

Ultimately, your physical health will suffer, no matter how well you eat or how often you exercise. You will experience high blood pressure, stress and tension, increasing your risk of stroke or heart attack.

In the hope of helping you avoid this, I would like to introduce to you the things I do to keep my sanity at its best.

My absolute favorite thing to be self-centered is going on a long ride on my Harley. Nothing brings the world back into focus by freewheeling like the wind, there’s no better form of therapy as far as I’m concerned.

A trip to the casino is another great way to relieve stress in your life and improve your mental health. Most people go to casinos hoping to go home a winner, not me. I will have a good time.

I enjoy the skills needed at blackjack or poker, or like trying my luck at roulette or slot machines. I also make sure not to bring a credit card with me when going to the casinos. Every week I save a few dollars and when I have enough money to go to the casino I will go and have a great time. This way, I can spend every penny I bring with me knowing I’m not hurting myself financially.

Sometimes I just love to sit down at the poker, blackjack or roulette table and place small bets. It may not be as exciting as risking big money, but in the end I play longer and can win more often. The best part is because I don’t expect to win, I don’t get frustrated when I don’t, and on the occasions when I do win, aside from going home with more money, I put on a big smile over dinner. Because the more nights, the better.

Another reason I like casinos is how far they are from my house so I can get my bike out in the morning and ride a good 3 hours to Atlantic City and then at the end of the day I can enjoy add 3 hours to my Harley, and if the weather gets really bad I can pick up my truck or stay home and log into one of the many online casinos to choose from.

I also enjoy watching TV for an hour or two every night, some light sitcoms are a great way to lighten your spirits, and laughing out loud for 30 seconds a day is a great stress reliever.

Video games are also great for relieving stress. If you are angry with your boss, what better way to release it than by boxing, just imagine punching your boss and hope you don’t lose.

I hope you try some of these methods or come up with some of your own to help you reduce the stress in your life and stay as sane as the rest of us.
