Essential oils are highly volatile – they are volatile and easily absorbed by the skin. However, aromatherapy practitioners should never use undiluted essential oils because these oils are very concentrated. They can cause burns and skin irritation if they come into direct contact with it.


Essential oils are always mixed with what is called a carrier oil before use. What are the current carrier oils? Simply put, they are vegetable oils extracted from certain fruits, seeds, and vegetables. They are called carrier oils because they literally carry essential oils when mixed and applied to the skin.


Aromatherapy practitioners believe that each essential oil and each carrier oil has its own unique properties and characteristics. To treat a particular condition, a specific combination of essential oils and carrier oils should be used.

The mixture is then massaged onto the skin or added to bath water. Sometimes it is placed in an air diffuser. Below are the most commonly used essential oils and carrier oils, along with the properties of each and their conditions of use.
Essential Oil:

1.Chamomile. Chamomile can help relieve pain so that the body can relax. It is also great for soothing the skin. Chamomile is often used for people suffering from nervous tension, fatigue headaches, and stomachaches. It can also be used to treat skin problems such as acne and boils.

2.Eucalyptus. Eucalyptus cools and relieves nasal congestion and relieves pain. So it is used for colds, sinusitis and other respiratory problems. It is also applied to sore muscles and joints affected by rheumatism.

3.Lavender flowers. For conditions like rheumatism and muscle tension as well as skin problems like acne and dandruff, lavender is commonly used. Lavender can help calm and relax the body as well as improve blood circulation. Lavender is also applied to people suffering from insomnia.

4.Lemon. The citrus fruits in lemons are very refreshing and can relieve nasal congestion and relieve pain. This is why it is also used to treat headaches and migraines. It is also great for treating stomach problems, and it is also said to have the ability to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the skin.

Carrier oils

7.Apricot blossom. Apricot oil is a light vegetable oil rich in vitamin A. Aromatherapy practitioners love to use apricot oil because it stops the aging process of the skin and helps revitalize the skin.

8.Grape seed shape. Grape seed oil is the most common carrier oil used by aromatherapy practitioners because it is the least expensive. Plus, because it’s lightweight, it can be used by people with oily skin without clogging pores.

9.Jojoba. Jojoba oil is another carrier oil suitable for those with oily skin. It has the ability to break down excess sebum, the cause of acne and dandruff. Furthermore, jojoba contains vitamin E, a vitamin that helps skin retain its youthfulness.

10.Sesame. Sesame oil is a carrier oil known for its aroma, but it has excellent antiseptic properties. It is effective in treating fungal infections, skin infections and minor wounds.
